Qualified Nursery Practitioner

Department: Nursery Practitioner

Employment Type: Full-time

Location: Monkey Puzzle Lightwater

Compensation: £29,120 per year (pro-rata if applicable)


Qualified Nursery Practitioner (Level 3 or above)

Location: Monkey Puzzle Lightwater

Hours: Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week.

Salary: Starting £29,120 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience).


About the Role

Monkey Puzzle Lightwater are seeking a Qualified Nursery Practitioner (Level 3 or above) to play a vital role in delivering outstanding early years education and care within their team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) experiences, meeting developmental milestones with creativity and innovation.
  • Ensure all regulatory compliance—health & safety, safeguarding policies, and robust childcare practices—are meticulously adhered to.
  • Design inspirational learning environments, tailored to diverse child needs, while fostering curiosity and engagement.
  • Maintain confident safeguarding awareness, promptly reporting concerns and working collaboratively with safeguarding officers.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, supporting their child’s growth at every stage.
  • Contribute to a positive and engaging nursery culture, fostering mutual respect with children, colleagues, and visitors.

Qualification & Experience Requirements

  • Relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or higher).
  • GCSEs (levels 5-9/A-C), preferably in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications).
  • Proven ability to manage behaviour effectively within early years settings.
  • Advanced understanding of child development and the ability to apply assessment strategies.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

It’s not essential but advantageous to have:

  • A Level 2 qualification in Early Years.
  • Experience with food hygiene (Level 2) or safeguarding training.
  • FGM (Female Genital Mutilation) awareness or Paediatric First Aid certification.
