Quality Advisor
Quality Advisor – Infrastructure Team
Murphy is recruiting for a Quality Advisor to join our growing Infrastructure team, delivering a major water infrastructure project in partnership with United Utilities as part of the AMP8 programme.
Murphy is a long-standing delivery partner to leading water clients across the UK and Ireland, including Thames Water, Severn Trent, Northern Ireland Water, Yorkshire Water, SES Water, Bristol Water, South East Water, and Uisce Éireann, where we operate over 25 facilities under full DBOM contracts.
About the Role
A day in the life of a Murphy Quality Advisor
- Be a champion for the “Quality – Right First Time” initiative.
- Establish and promote best practice in quality matters in conjunction with the Quality function.
- Ensure all personnel understand their statutory duties and provide advice as needed.
- Support site management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements in the Quality Plans.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of sites and workplaces to verify adherence to Company Policy, Procedures, and stated requirements.
- Review internal and supply chain partner Inspection and Test Plans.
- Promote the reporting of nonconformances, manage actions, and provide advice on closing them.
- Collate and review Business / Contract Quality statistics in a timely way and submit to Quality Management and Quality teams for reporting.
- Analyse Quality statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement Quality campaigns and improvement plans in agreement with Quality Management.
- Provide support to Project teams in developing Quality Plans.
- Produce Quality plans, procedures, and associated documentation and check compliance.

Requirements
- Experience within a Quality role (essential).
- Relevant Quality Membership (e.g. CQI – Chartered Quality Institute) would be advantageous.
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft package tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, MS Project).
- Solid understanding of the ISO 9001 standard.
- Chartered Quality Professional – Member (CQP MCQI) classification advantageous.
- Previous experience in an Engineering or Construction environment.
