Business and Department
The Quality Team sits within Networks Delivery Scotland and provides business wide leadership, strategy and direction integrating business and group policies, programs and processes in support of operational excellence, legal compliance and safe working practices. This includes delivering quality services and advice to 200+ professionals in SPT and SPT Senior Management, reporting and analysis for SPT portfolio including proposing and leading annual improvement initiatives and for all training in SPT.
Description
As the Quality Advisor - Assets, you will support the Senior Quality Advisor responsible for a multi-disciplinary team of professionals assigned to multi-million-pound energy construction projects.
You will be responsible for quality processes throughout the free issue asset life cycle, from specification at order stage to handover to our Operations colleagues once the asset is live on the network.

You will plan, facilitate and execute inspection and monitoring processes and report analysis on a monthly basis to senior management review meetings.
Accountabilities
- Take ownership of the Supplier Non-Conformance cycle and implement changes
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests from a quality perspective and prepare and present quality data for stakeholders (International and European travel may be required)
- Design and roll out quality training around assets as required to support processes at site
- Prepare detailed reports on Asset quality, including recommendations for mitigating risk
- Support Quality Delivery Team with NCRs and use Quality Tools to identify root cause
- Evaluate the quality of Assets to Identify potential risks and areas for improvement
- Report inspection statistics to senior management monthly meetings
- Conduct ISO 9001:2015 supplier quality audits to drive improvements and work with suppliers and contractors to resolve quality escapes and ensure supplier compliance with contractual requirements
- Communicate with site managers and contractors with any potential issues regarding Free Issue Equipment and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Conduct Gap Analysis to identify risks within supplier quality related issues

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Significant experience in a quality role
- IT proficient in Microsoft applications
- Significant process and Lead or Internal audit experience
- Proven ability to work and influence in a team environment
- Experience of supplier quality management is advantageous
- Strong people skills, presentation skills, and the ability to train
- Team player / Good communication and interpersonal skills
Minimum Criteria
- Trained Quality Lead or Internal auditor (ISO 9001:2015)
- Experience in attending and conducting FAT's and Supplier Audits
- Experience in delivering result driven reports to senior management
- Experience and understanding of HSEQ management systems, preferably within a commercially focused utility, service or construction business.
- Current valid driving licence
- Proven experience implementing new processes, engaging with stakeholders
- Understanding of quality tools such as 8D, 5WHY's, A3, RCCA
- Experience working in helping reduce cost of poor quality
