Your Role
As a Quality Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring product quality and customer satisfaction by resolving order-related quality issues efficiently and identifying underlying root causes. You will analyse non-conformances, customer complaints, and process deviations to identify trends and implement corrective and preventive actions. Your work will directly contribute to improving first pass yield performance, reducing waste and customer returns and enhancing operational efficiency. The role requires strong technical knowledge of the optical lens manufacturing process, combined with analytical problem-solving and effective stakeholder communication across Operations and wider ZEISS Vision teams.

The Role Of Quality Analyst Will Involve
- Assess technical rejects and order issues, determining the most effective resolution (rework, remake, or customer communication) within agreed service levels.
- Perform structured root cause analysis on rejected products, non-conformances and customer complaints.
- Identify trends in defects, rejects, and complaints using available data systems (e.g., SAP, dashboards).
- Define and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce recurrence of issues.
- Collaborate with Team Leaders, Production, and Training teams to implement process improvements.
- Conduct regular audits of operational processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives targeting key KPIs: First Pass Yield (FPY), Returns %, and Customer satisfaction.
- Provide technical support and guidance to operational teams on quality-related issues.
- Where appropriate, communicate with customers to explain technical outcomes and agree solutions.
- Maintain 5S standards and comply with all Health & Safety and HR requirements.
- Comply with and maintain good standards of health and safety for self and others.
- Participate in training exercises to continuously improve and develop your skills.
- Support the delivery of the wider Operations Team KPIs even if this is outside of normal day to day activities.
- Contribute to the Operations Team and the wider ZEISS business being a Great Place to Work by always presenting exceptional values and behaviours embracing customer first, best in class quality and operational excellence principles.

Your Experience
- Able to commute to Birmingham facility for all shifts.
- Minimum 3 years previous experience within the optical lens/frame industry (surfacing or glazing).
- Strong understanding of the optical lens industry and its products.
- Analytical, inquisitive and customer focused.
- Strong communicator and comfortable communicating directly with customers.
It Would Be Desirable If You Had
- Able to cut, edge and fit lenses into all types of frames.
- Proven capability as Senior Operations Technician (for internal candidates) or relevant experience/education in Optics / Vision industry (for external candidates).
