Role Overview

We are looking for a Quality and Clinical Governance Lead to work alongside the Quality and Clinical Governance Manager ensuring the efficient delivery of the IPRS Health Clinical Governance strategy, Audit Programme and other Quality Management activities related to IPRS Health Clinical Governance.

The Quality and Clinical Governance Lead will be a HCPC-registered Physiotherapist to support the delivery of our Clinical Governance strategy, audit programme and quality improvement activity. Working alongside the Quality and Clinical Governance Manager, you will analyse patient experience/safety, complaints and incident data, support PSIRF delivery, promote learning and help drive safe, effective, high-quality care.

Your success will help IPRS Health strengthen clinical governance, improve audit completion and use insight from incidents, complaints and patient experience to drive meaningful quality improvement. They will support safer care, better learning, stronger compliance, more effective reporting and a positive culture where staff are supported to deliver consistently high standards.

  • Provide support to the Clinical Governance Lead in the delivery of the Clinical Governance strategy, as part of the overarching Governance & Compliance strategy.
  • Assist with developing and implementing audits to facilitate the delivery of the IPRS Health Clinical Audit programme.
  • Support colleagues across IPRS Health to undertake effective and efficient clinical audit and quality improvement projects.
  • Incorporate CG data into the CG dashboard and the Quality Account.
  • Use insight from CG activities to contribute to continuous quality improvement.
  • Work with the Clinical Governance Lead to analyse patient experience data, complaints and incidents to identify areas needing improvement (both clinical and non-clinical) and facilitate quality improvement implementation based on these.
  • Support the management of Complaints and Incidents.
  • Support the Clinical Governance Lead with the delivery of PSIRF within the organisation.
  • Promote and support with systems based investigations.
  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with IPRS policy, and professional and statutory requirements.
  • Support preparations for any external inspection visits.
  • Contribute to discussions and decision-making processes relating to the organisation's clinical strategic plans and their realisation, from a clinical governance perspective.
  • Contribute to the review of recommended changes to services, processes, guidelines or policies identified through quality management activities.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions to colleagues (clinical and non-clinical) around clinical governance and quality.
  • Provide clinical governance support and training to IPRS Health Operations (Non-Clinical) teams.
  • Contribute to the effective development of IPRS Health IT platforms.

Qualifications and Experience

Education and Qualifications:

  • Qualified Physiotherapist (Essential)
  • Current registration with HCPC (Essential)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development in Physiotherapy (Essential)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development in clinical governance, particularly with postgraduate education in Clinical Audit and Quality Improvement (Desirable)

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Previous experience in using computer software including Microsoft Office (Essential)
  • Previous experience of using online/computerised reporting templates/databases (Essential)
  • Experience of conducting clinical governance e.g. quality assurance or improvement, investigating incidents or complaints, clinical audit (Essential)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Work under minimum supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, verbally and in writing.
  • Time management to meet agreed deadlines in a demanding environment.
  • Collate and produce statistics, reporting to Quality & Clinical Governance Manager on a regular basis.
  • Work with databases and Microsoft programmes.
  • A thorough understanding of clinical governance.
