About The Role
Are you passionate about maintaining the highest standards in vocational training? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a knack for coaching others to succeed?
As our Quality and Risk Assurer, you will play a pivotal role in our Quality Control & Risk Management team. Your mission is to sample, assess, and elevate the work of our trainers, ensuring that all assessment decisions meet stringent standards and compliance risks are proactively managed.
This isn't just about auditing—it’s about development. You will collaborate closely with our Delivery teams, providing constructive feedback and tailored support to Vocational Trainers, empowering them to grow and deliver exceptional learner experiences.
Duties
- Ensure High Standards of Delivery: Monitor work submitted, conduct thorough sampling interventions from learner induction to gateway, and deliver consistency sessions to drive continuous improvement.
- Champion Personal Development: Partner with the Development QA team to support assessment practices through the delivery of TAQA, ensuring minimum performance levels are achieved. Provide remote feedback and coaching to Training Consultants.
- Contribute to Ofsted Readiness: Evidence quality, support continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) and Awarding Organisation specifications.
- Learner Journey & Compliance Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all assessment and progress evidence is valid, authentic, reliable, and sufficient.
- Complete, record, and share clear IQA reports following each sampling intervention, highlighting areas of risk or good practice.
- Monitor ESFA compliance by auditing progress reviews, learning support documentation, and the effectiveness of learner catch-up plans.
- Utilise end-point assessment (EPA) platforms to refer apprentices to their EPA.
- Compliantly and accurately claim qualification certifications within 12 hours of IQA, and process APA / RPL components.
- Meet Quality & Risk Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Identify and escalate assessment risks/concerns to your line manager or the Quality Director within 48 hours.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
