Role: Quality and Risk Manager
Location: The Harborne Hospital, Birmingham
Position: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Type: Permanent

We’re looking for an experienced Quality and Risk Manager to join our Governance team based at The Harborne Hospital.
About the Role
As the Quality and Risk Manager, you will lead on the implementation and delivery of a range of governance activities with a particular focus on risk, incidents and complaint investigations, whilst supporting The Harborne Hospital to meet the regulatory requirements of external standards and inspections.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on the implementation and delivery of governance activities with a focus on risk, incidents, and complaint investigations.
- Support the hospital to meet regulatory requirements of external standards and inspections.
- Manage and coordinate investigations and learning responses of all incidents, liaising with Heads of Department and the Senior Leadership Team.
- Create and present reports to relevant Hospital committees, including trend analysis and advice for key stakeholders.
- Implement and monitor the facility-wide Audit Programme in collaboration with Heads of Department to develop robust action plans for improvements.
- Work with the HCA UK Corporate Clinical Services Department and local Heads of Departments to ensure a standardized approach to CQC inspection compliance.
- Act as the Policy Controller and direct the policy reviewer where needed.
- Oversee and implement the risk management processes, including regular reviews of the departmental and facility risk register.

Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of developing and embedding governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of CQC inspection and other healthcare accreditation frameworks.
- Previous experience and knowledge of governance, incident & risk management and quality improvement.
- Good IT skills including Excel, Word, Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written, including good presentation skills.
