Quality Assistant
Wimbledon, London SW19
£33,000 pa
We are suppliers to some of the top Restaurants, 5 Star Hotels, Bars & Catering Companies in London with freshly prepared seasonal produce, 6 days a week.
Hours:
40 hours per week (12pm – 8.30pm), 5 over 7 shift pattern (will include some Sunday’s)
We have a requirement for a Quality Assistant who will ensure that all products manufactured on site are safe, meet customer requirements and comply with food safety standards & current legislation.
With a reporting line to the Technical Manager, the Quality Assistant will provide support to ensure full compliance to BRCGS standards and other customer audit requirements, ensuring documents and products are produced according to customer requirements.
Accountabilities:
- Monitoring ongoing compliance with food safety, legislation, quality & customer requirements, and industry regulatory requirements.
- Interpret and implement quality assurance standards and procedures.
- Monitor and promote GMP, Hygiene, Quality Standards, and adherence to all Quality Management & Food Safety related procedures.
- Conducting and documenting internal audits (GMP, Hygiene, Glass & Plastic).
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances issued.
- Conduct verification checks on the site’s Critical Control Points and help in day-to-day maintenance of HACCP.
- Provide technical support and advice to production team.
- Supporting Warehouse Team in raw materials quality checks.
- Supporting the Technical Manager in preparations for audits.
- Supporting Production Team and Hygiene Team in closing any non-conformities raised during internal audits as well as second- and third-party audits.
- Liaise with production to ensure products samples can be produced at the required time, to the required specification.
- Ensure that Analysis is completed and forwarded to relevant parties after approval from the General Manager of pricing for each sample produced.

Essential Knowledge, Competencies, Abilities, and Skills:
- Previous experience within the food industry, preferably manufacturing.
- Food Safety Level 2 (Essential)
- HACCP Level 2 (Essential)
- Food Science/Food Technology degree.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and functions.
- Understanding of Health & Safety procedures on site.
