About the Role

As the Quality Assurance Alternative Provision Lead Officer, you will ensure alternative education and tuition providers commissioned by Nottinghamshire County Council deliver compliant, high-quality education to vulnerable children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance: Assess and uphold the effectiveness of safeguarding practices, curriculum delivery, and education standards by external providers.
  • Compliance Verification: Confirm that commissioned providers adhere to national and local standards and facilitate pupils’ attainment of recognised qualifications.
  • Support & Escalation: Advise struggling providers, escalate serious safeguarding/support concerns to the Local Authority and Ofsted.
  • Data & Reporting: Analyse performance data to generate insights for policy development and decision-making.
  • Collaboration: Work with stakeholders (including education teams, safeguarding partners, and providers) to promote best practices.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience

  • A relevant degree-level qualification in education or a related field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in education, with working experience with vulnerable children.
  • Proficiency in negotiation, evaluation, and analysis.
  • Expertise in interpreting and applying education/legulatory legislation.
