The Opportunity:
We are supporting a confidential programme for a major central government project (Government Digital Services) and are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join a multidisciplinary Agile delivery team working on the development of modern, cloud-based data platforms and user-facing digital services.
This role is ideally suited to a QA professional with experience testing data-driven systems, validating end-to-end data pipelines and assuring the quality of applications that consume and present complex datasets.
You'll work closely with Product Owners, Data Engineers, Developers and Business Analysts to ensure that data is processed accurately, integrations perform reliably and end users receive high-quality, trusted information.
Experience with cloud-based data platforms, REST APIs and geospatial datasets would be highly advantageous.
You'll be comfortable working within a collaborative Agile team, communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and taking ownership of testing activities throughout the delivery lifecycle.
If you're an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer with a passion for data quality, modern cloud platforms and delivering high-quality digital services, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven commercial experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer, Test Engineer or Software QA Engineer.
- Strong experience testing data-driven applications and platform-based solutions.
- Good understanding of data pipelines, ingestion, transformation and end-to-end data flow validation.
- Experience working within Azure cloud environments or similar cloud platforms.
- Experience validating REST APIs and integrated services.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate complex technical issues and data anomalies.
- Experience working within Agile software delivery teams.
- Familiarity with version control and CI/CD practices.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
