Quality Assurance Engineer
Quality Assurance Engineer [Location: Open to global applicants, Ta connaît a team on-site in UK/Europe/US]

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and excellence of TAIT’s equipment—from rack-mounted power and control products to hoist/winch systems, control consoles, and related technology. Your work will span prototype validation, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement, supporting everything from initial design to final delivery.
Responsibilities
- Test Design & Execution:
- Plan, execute, and document functional, non-functional, and user acceptance testing across new hardware prototypes, firmware updates, and production-line changes.
- Develop creative test scenarios for cutting-edge products (e.g., automation, motion control, industrial consoles) and mature legacy systems.
- Advise on test approach improvements, reducing redundancy and enhancing coverage.

Collaboration & Quality Leadership:
- Partner with Product Engineering, design teams, and manufacturing to embed quality early in the development cycle (fail-fast mindset).
- Liaise with third-party test labs for specialised equipment/environments (e.g., environmental stress, high-voltage testing).
- Troubleshoot field issues with legacy products and share insights to prevent recurring faults.

Documentation & Compliance:
- Author clear, structured test plans and reports (including pass/fail criteria, deviations, and remedial actions).
- Ensure adherence to industrial safety standards (e.g., CE, UL, ISO) and client-specific requirements.
Requirements

Technical Foundations:
- Degree in electrical/mechanical systems engineering (or equivalent experience via apprenticeships/technical trade schools).
- Hands-on experience with electrical installations (e.g., 3-phase power systems, motors: induction/servo, variable frequency drives/PLCs).
- Exposure to automation/motion control hardware (e.g., CNC, winches, crane systems) and their associated diagnostics.

Problem-Solving & TestingMindset:
- Proven ability to design defensible test plans for hardware/firmware (demo projects Welcome).
- Passion for reverse-engineering failures and proposing data-driven solutions.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) or test automation tools is a +1; willingness to upskill in others is valued.
