Quality Assurance Engineer

6-month contract | Remote Working (UK-based) | Outside IR35 | Daily Rate: £350 to £375

The Opportunity

We are supporting a confidential programme for a major central government project (Government Digital Services) and are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join a multidisciplinary Agile delivery team.

You’ll be developing modern, cloud-based data platforms and user-facing digital services. This role suits a QA professional with expertise in testing:

  • Data-driven systems

  • Applications consuming/comparing complex datasets

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Data Engineers, Developers, and Business Analysts.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integration reliability, and high-quality trusted information for end users.
  • Work with cloud-based data platforms, REST APIs, and geospatial datasets.

Successful candidates should be Agile-minded, capable of working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and eager to champion data quality and quality assurance.

Skills and Experience

Required:

  • Proven commercial experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer, Test Engineer, or Software QA Engineer.
  • Strong experience with data-driven applications/platform testing (ingestion, transformation, and validation of end-to-end data flows).
  • Cloud experience (preferably Azure) and knowledge of:
    • REST API validation.
    • Integrating technical services.
  • Analytical aptitude to troubleshoot complex technical issues and data anomalies.
  • Agile methodology expertise and version control/CI/CD familiarity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
