Quality Manager – Precision Engineering

The Opportunity
As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Quality Manager to take ownership of our quality function, lead our talented quality team, and drive continuous improvement across the business.
This is a role for someone who thrives in a precision engineering environment and understands that when tolerances are measured in microns, there is no room for compromise.

The Opportunity (Continued)
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the quality strategy across the business
- Ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Acting as the primary point of contact for customers on all quality-related matters
- Managing audits, non-conformances, supplier quality performance, and ongoing Quality Management System development

This is a highly visible leadership role where you’ll have genuine influence on operational performance, customer satisfaction, and business growth.
Responsibilities
Key Duties:
- Lead, develop, and mentor the Quality Team
- Maintain and enhance the AS9100 Quality Management System
- Host customer, supplier, and certification audits
- Manage internal, supplier, and customer non-conformance processes
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Monitor quality KPIs and identify improvement opportunities
- Support supplier development and quality performance
- Act as the primary customer contact for quality concerns
- Advise on metrology, measurement techniques, and inspection best practice
- Work closely with leadership to reduce risk and improve operational performance
- Support business-wide continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager within a precision engineering or machining environment
- Background in aerospace, defence, automotive, motorsport, medical devices, or similarly regulated manufacturing sectors
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 experience required
- AS9100 Lead Auditor qualification (IRCA-certified)
- Experience leading customer, supplier and certification audits
- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving capability
- Experience managing Quality Teams and developing people
- Customer-facing experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of metrology and inspection processes
- Commercial awareness and a continuous improvement mindset

Desirable:
- NEBOSH qualification
- Supplier development experience
- Experience programming and using CMM (Coordinated Measuring Machine) equipment
- Experience completing AS9102 First Article Inspections, PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), and ISIR (International Specification for Raw Materials) documentation
