Cambridge

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm

Salary: GBP 42,000 to GBP 45,000

Do you want to work for a food manufacturer, part of a larger European group, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards? Due to growth within the site, they are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to coordinate everything related to food safety, quality, and hygiene standards.

Role and Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Manager

  • Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Lead a team of Quality Assurance and Hygiene Technicians
  • Ensure company HACCP plans are up-to-date
  • Coordinate all elements of food safety, quality, hygiene, and legality processes
  • Make sure food safety and quality checks are completed from schedules
  • Raw materials and finished product testing programme is maintained
  • Internal audits, monitor KPIs and team compliance
  • Make sure pest control and hygiene schedules are followed
  • Investigate non-conformances and complaints received and implement corrective actions

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed to be a Quality Assurance Manager:

  • At least 5 years experience in a similar quality leader or manager position
  • Internal audit experience
  • Ideally degree qualified in science / food safety related subjects
  • Must have worked in food manufacturing previously
  • Knowledge of pest control, HACCP to BRCGS standards
  • Good people management, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Experienced in reporting, dealing with data, and use of QMS
  • Proactive and able to think on own initiative
