Bedfordshire | Food Manufacturing £45k plus benefits


Role Description

This is far more than a compliance-led role. It's an opportunity with real autonomy to influence and ensure quality remains at the centre of every decision the business makes.

As Quality Assurance Manager, you'll:

  • Lead the site's QA team
  • Take ownership of the Quality Management System
  • Ensure compliance with BRCGS, HACCP, customer, and legislative requirements

You’ll be joining a food manufacturer renowned for its outstanding reputation in innovation, technical excellence, and long-standing customer partnerships.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Driving continuous improvement, leading internal and external audits
  • Analysing key performance indicators (KPIs) and trend data
  • Identifying risks before they escalate into critical issues for sustainable solutions
  • Strengthening overall quality performance across the site

You’ll collaborate closely with:

  • Production, Operations, and Supply Chain
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to colleagues
  • Ensure food safety and quality standards are consistently achieved

A pivotal role will also include responsibility for:

  • Supplier quality oversight
  • Allergen management
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Customer engagement, acting as a trusted technical expert

  • Building capability and fostering a continuous improvement culture rather than enforcement.

About You

You’ll have:

  • Experience leading Quality in food manufacturing (proven track record in fast-paced environments where standards drive innovation)
  • Technical authority combining expertise and leadership

Ideally, you’ll offer:

  • Prior experience as a Quality Assurance Manager or performance in a quality supervisory role within food manufacturing
  • Strong familiarity and mastery of:
    • BRCGS standards
    • HACCP principles
    • Food safety legislation and compliance frameworks
  • Proven expertise in leading customer, certification, and regulatory audits
  • Qualifications (preferably) in:
    • Level 3 HACCP
    • Level 3 Food Safety
  • A relevant university degree (Preferred: Food Science or equivalent industry discipline)
  • Permanent right to work in the UK
