Quality Assurance Manager
Technical – Quality Manager (Rota Rover – Nights), Taiko
Location: Acton Contract: Full Time Salary: £45,000 per annum Contracted Hours: 42
About the Role
Established in 1997 as the first sushi manufacturer for the UK supermarket industry, Taiko has grown to become the most innovative manufacturer of sushi, food-to-go, prepared meals, and snacking products in the UK, supplying major retailers such as Waitrose, Tesco, and Sainsbury’s. Since 1997, Taiko has launched more first-to-market sushi and food-to-go products than any other manufacturer in the UK.
As an experienced Quality Manager, you thrive on maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance across all operational areas. Backed by a background in BRCGS and customer-specific standards, you ensure all products meet both regulatory and customer expectations consistently.
Your expertise covers developing and maintaining robust auditing programs, including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), glass, wood, and physical audits, as well as conducting daily quality assurance checks and managing technical documentation. Your influence extends to managing internal audits, addressing non-conformances, and leading root cause analyses and corrective actions for customer complaints, guaranteeing timely resolution and alignment with client demands.

With strong communication skills, an approachable demeanour, and a collaborative mindset, you will work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders, advising customer-facing colleagues and acting as the primary point of contact for pest control and chemical suppliers to ensure ongoing compliance and safety.
Your commitment to continuous improvement includes proactively training new starters, building a culture that prioritises quality, safety, and operational excellence. Your ability to analyse and resolve issues effectively, while maintaining unyielding standards, adds immeasurable value to the team.
Key responsibility: Must be willing to work 4 on, 4 off nights.
What You’ll Be Doing
Core Responsibilities
- Ensuring full compliance with BRCGS standards
- Ensuring adherence to customer standards (including Customer Operating Procedures (COP))
- Managing internal auditing
- Handling non-conformances
- Developing and maintaining a robust auditing program, covering GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), glass, wood, and other physical audits
- Conducting daily quality assurance checks, assessing raw materials specifications, and managing technical documentation
- Providing training for new starters
- Leading investigations and root cause analyses for all non-conformances and customer complaints
- Supporting and advising customer-facing teams
- Serving as the primary contact for pest control and chemical suppliers
