Job Overview
As a Performance Test Engineer in the QA team, you’ll design, build, and maintain scalable, high-value performance assessment tests to mitigate performance risk for InfoSum’s data collaboration platform.
Your role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams (frontend engineers, backend engineers, and infrastructure) to pinpoint testing focus areas and deliver robust, efficient solutions.
The role balances performance focus with sensitivity to cost, security, and reliability—requiring expertise in test design, execution, reporting, and communication across engineering teams up to senior management.
Core Responsibilities
Performance Testing & Improvement
- Design and implement scalable, high-value performance tests aligned with engineering priorities.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks ensuring smooth operation under high workload stress.
- Maintain adherence to security best practices, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and data protection.
Automation & Monitoring
- Develop automated performance testing strategies for proactive monitoring and system reliability tracking.
- Compile and present long-term performance analysis records and reports.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
- Partner with product, frontend, backend, and infrastructure teams to integrate automated performance tests seamlessly.
- Mentor junior QA colleagues and organise team knowledge-sharing sessions.
Deployment & Issue Resolution
- Liaise with teams to establish monitoring and logging solutions, addressing production issues preemptively.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and performance best practices, advocating for system efficiency.
Additional Company-Wide Requirements
- Information Security Compliance: Uphold InfoSum’s security and privacy policies, with a vigilant focus on data protection across all backend activities.
Requirements
Technical Prerequisites
- 5+ years of experience in performance testing, with proficiency in relevant tooling (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, Locust).
- Understanding of distributed data architectures, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- In-depth knowledge of scalability strategies, microservices load balancing, caching, batch processing, and event-driven architectures—particularly Apache Kafka.
- Strong expertise in CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for smooth deployments.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues with minimal guidance.
