Quality Assurance (QA) Technician - Paint Manufacturing

Over the past 20 years, Linemark has been a world leader, developing line-marking products for the largest distributor in the UK and currently exporting to 34 countries, worldwide - on 5 continents.

The QA Technician is responsible for ensuring that all paint and coating products meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves testing raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products, as well as supporting compliance with safety, regulatory, and customer requirements.

Main Responsibilities: Perform quality control tests on raw materials, intermediates, and finished paint products Conduct laboratory tests such as viscosity, density, gloss, colour matching, drying time, adhesion, and durability Approve or reject batches based on test results and specifications Monitor production processes to ensure consistency and quality standards are maintained Accurately record test data and maintain quality documentation Investigate and report non-conformances, defects, or deviations Assist in handling complaints, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and external standards (e.g., ISO) Calibrate and maintain laboratory testing equipment Work closely with production, R&D, and warehouse teams to resolve quality issues

Skills Required: Background in chemistry, materials science, or a related field Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Understanding of quality control and assurance principles Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) Good written and verbal communication skills Basic IT skills (data entry, spreadsheets, lab systems)

Desirable Skills: Experience in paint, coatings, or chemical manufacturing Familiarity with testing instruments (e.g., viscometer, spectrophotometer, gloss meter) Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 Understanding of UK health and safety regulations (e.g., COSHH) Experience in Microsoft D365
