Senior Rater (QA) – Search & AI Content Validation

Remote | Freelance Basis | Working from United Kingdom

About the Role

Join our [elite team of Senior Raters] as a critical contributor to high-quality validation data that directly influences product development for leading search engines and AI technologies. This flexible, remote opportunity allows you to apply your analytical and research skills to evaluate search results and AI-generated content, shaping the future of AI systems and quality assurance.


A Day in the Life of a Quality Assurance Rater

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct analytical assessments of search results and AI responses, providing ratings and feedback to refine AI model performance and search quality.
  • Maintain high-quality standards while supporting accuracy and relevance—key drivers for our clients’ success.
  • Evaluate diverse rating tasks, research scenarios with patience for detail, identify guideline gaps, and flag inconsistencies.
  • Participate in training and calibration sessions and contribute constructive feedback to improve rating processes and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Assess search results and AI-generated content against criteria for usefulness, relevance, accuracy, and overall quality.
  • Conduct online research to verify fact claims and contextualise rating decisions.
  • Apply rating guidelines consistently to ensure uniformity and high standards.
  • Document edge cases, guideline limitations, and task inconsistencies for continuous improvement.
  • Provide detailed written feedback and rationale when required, clarifying decision-making behind ratings.
  • Engage in knowledge-sharing sessions, quality reviews, and ongoing performance evaluations.
  • Meet productive output goals while sustaining rater accuracy and deliverables.

Compensation

  • Hourly rate: 17.40 GBP per hour (payment processed upon task completion).
  • Remote flexibility with no commute—work at your own pace from a UK-based location.

Qualification Process Before commencing live projects, candidates complete mandatory project-specific training and qualification assessments (no prior experience is strictly required). Ongoing contributions are subject to regular quality assurance monitoring and performance reviews.


Basic Requirements

Be eligible for this role if you:

  • Are a self-employed freelancer with exceptional communication skills in English.
  • Have resided in the United Kingdom for the past five consecutive years.
  • Possess strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and research proficiency.
  • Can render instant decisions based on current/past events related to business, media and cultural topics (news, trends, sports, social media).
  • Utilise search engines, web browsers, and online research tools efficiently.
  • Maintain daily broadband internet access, a smartphone, and a personal computer for flexible submissions.
  • Demonstrate research capability through either:
    • A professional background related to research, verification, or content moderation; OR
    • A proven track record of independent problem-solving and information validation.
  • Showcase independent working ability, scrutiny towards adherence to guidelines, and high-level consistency.
  • Balance creativity with logical skills to achieve stated performance targets.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional but advantageous)

  • Familiarity with quality assurance, content moderation, AI research, journalism, and fact-checking.
  • Prior experience with search engines, AI models, or complex data platforms.
  • Subject-matter expertise in:
    • Popular Culture & Entertainment
    • Social Sciences
    • STEM/Scientific Research
    • Health/Medicine
    • Legislation/Law
    • Finance
    • Engineering
  • Multilingual communication skills (specific assets may depend on project demands).
