💼 Quality Assurance Senior Team Lead (Sanctions)

We are seeking an experienced professional to take ownership of the sanctions domain QA strategy at Wise. In this visionary leadership role, you will drive quality, security, and innovation while shaping the future of Wise’s financial framework.


## About the Role

As the Quality Assurance Senior Team Lead, your role is to set the QA strategy for the sanctions domain, deliver against plans, KPIs, and build a credible, trusted team. With your subject matter expertise, you will ensure the accuracy, validity, and value of all QA outcomes while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and proportional risk management.

Partner with critical stakeholders—both inside and outside Compliance—to deliver insights that drive better quality, efficiency, and reputational robustness.


## Your Responsibilities

💡 Area Leadership & People Management

  • Lead with a strong, customer and risk-proportionate mindset to inspire the QA team.
  • Coach and develop a high-performing QA squad, designing initiatives to expand team skills and ensure succession planning for senior roles.
  • Foster an environment where continuous learning and risk awareness become intrinsic.

📊 Operational & Performance Management

  • Take complete accountability for the Sanctions QA team’s outcomes against KPIs and objectives.
  • Identify key process efficiencies, monitor resource allocation, and refine standard operating procedures to achieve scalability.
  • Measure performance and track progress to drive a high-culture standards.

📚 Expertise Sharing

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Sanctions policy, Quality Assurance, and risk management.
  • Work closely with external auditors to ** validate complex cases** and ensure compliance frameworks evolve.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance team to strengthen internal procedures against regulatory risk.

📈 Planning & Execution

  • Own the entire QA strategy, including sampling methodologies, test scripts, and scorecard frameworks.
  • Project manage forecasting for demand and accurately match available capacity against KPI-driven delivery targets and SLAs.

🗣️ Stakeholder Management

  • Build and nurture constructive, high-trust relationships with operational and business leaders.
  • Apply data storytelling skills to explain complex QA insights and drive critical business change.

## Requirements

🔹 Your Experience

  • Experienced Leader: At least 4+ years of leadership experience—preferably in a financial services operations or compliance context. Minimum 2 years leading a medium-sized team (20–40 people).
  • Domain Experience: 3+ years of direct sanctions experience, ideally in a financial services or payments environment.
  • Compliance Expertise: Deep legislative knowledge of global sanctions laws and financial services regulations.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Ability to analyze and interpret data, drive team metrics, and highlight trends to improve processes.

## You Need: Compensation & Incentives

  • Base Salary: GBP 83,000–110,000 per annum (exact match pending qualifications and experience).
