Quality Assurance Specialist
Quality Assurance Specialist – Food Industry (MITCHAM, United Kingdom)

About the Role
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be a key member of our Quality Team, ensuring Food Safety and Quality standards are upheld across all of our global sites.
This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, proactive engagement with all departments, and a strong focus on driving quality KPIs while fostering a safety-conscious culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to the product testing schedule, with diligent record-keeping, analysis of results, and escalation of out-of-specification findings, while supporting investigations.
- Manage environmental monitoring, allergen, and water testing, including out-of-spec investigations and trend analyses.
- Assist with external audits by preparing documentation, conducting traceability exercises, and presenting findings.
- Uphold compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and standards through internal process audits.
- Identify and resolve quality and food safety issues, leveraging CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Action) processes.
- Collaborate with operations teams to address and improve quality concerns.
- Deliver training on Food Safety and Quality procedures as needed.
- Conduct environmental swabbing and document trends for continuous improvement.
- Actively participate in site meetings and business quality projects.

Candidate Profile
We are seeking an experienced professional with:
- A degree or equivalent in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
- Industry experience in Quality Assurance/Control or Technical roles within the food sector.
- A team player attitude—collaborative, transparent, and open-minded.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with a diligent approach to compliance.
- Ability to travel within the UK and internationally.
- A current, valid driving license.
- Experience with BRCGS standards and active participation in audits.
- Qualifications in BRC, HACCP, and Food Safety.
