About the Role
As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of fresh products delivered to our Knightsbridge receiving bank. Reporting to the Food Safety Manager, you will monitor and manage the quality of products from reception to end user, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and quality management protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Product Quality: Verify all products arriving at the back door are from approved vendors and meet expected specifications. Use risk-assessed sampling to confirm quality, manage rejections, and liaise with the technologist and internal teams on any issues.
- Monitor Temperature & Hygiene: Ensure products are delivered at the correct temperature, with records confirming temperature control during transit. Maintain hygiene standards in storage areas and carry out environmental monitoring using ATP and traditional swabs as per schedule.
- Oversee Inspections & Documentation: Perform delivery checks, inspect products against specification, and complete all required documentation accurately. Record any quality concerns and submit to the Food Technologist for supplier follow-up.
- Support Operations: Assist with return-to-vendor (RTV) processes, logging quality issues where required. Support the Food Safety team in closing out actions from pest control, audits, and floor walks, and carry out regular checks of kitchen and restaurant fridges/freezers to ensure shelf life compliance.
Depending on your role, you may be fully on-site or have a mix of on-site and home working – this is what we refer to as ‘Hybrid’. Our hybrid working policy allows colleagues to work from home for part of the week, with a minimum of three days on-site, depending on business needs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
