Overview Of Role
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our technical team based in Selby. This role involves carrying out line checks, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting food safety and compliance standards. You will assist in audits, sample coordination, complaint investigations and improvement initiatives whilst reinforcing good manufacturing practice

Key Accountabilities
- Complete Line quality control and quality assurance checks, including weight checks, machine verification, organoleptic tests, packaging checks, coding checks, calibration and verification, lab equipment maintenance, data analysis and reporting, documentation audits, audit-readiness.
- Complete record keeping, filing, archiving and ensure document control. Assist Technical Co-ordinator with technical issue resolution and continuous development of food safety and quality.
- Complete site internal audits (CCP, GMP, Glass and Plastic, Hygiene etc.).
- Collection and coordination of samples for routine micro / analytical analysis & co-ordination of process.
- Actively reinforce company good manufacturing practices and hygiene policies by advising staff on good practices when necessary and reporting non-conformances to Supervisors/Managers and investigation of non- conformances.
- Attend and contribute to technical team meetings for the development of food safety systems.
- Cross train to cover for Technical Co-ordinator.
- Assist with Training.
- Maintain a close working relationship with team leaders, Production staffs and other relevant departments to successfully drive quality and safety forward.
- Work and promote working in a safe manner according to all Westmill health and safety procedures.
- Actively participate in external audits, including BRC as well internal site improvements as required.
- Complaint investigation, root cause analysis and NCR close out.
- Taste Panelling to ensure product consistency.
- Report on trends and issues to Technical Co-ordinator.

The Right Person
To be successful in your application, you must demonstrate strong attention to detail and have a proactive approach along with data handling and report writing skills. Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, weight legislation, and QMS is an advantage as well as experience in a quality environment and auditing.
