About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-focused individual to join a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment, supporting the delivery of the highest standards of food safety, quality, legality, and integrity across our bakeries.

What You Will Be Doing
Our vision is to be the “go-to” supplier of premium bakery products, working nationally with leading retailers and regionally through our own brands. As part of our Finance team, you will play a key role in supporting this vision by ensuring accurate, timely, and well-controlled financial administration.

As part of our Technical team, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving food safety and quality standards across our sites.
Your Responsibilities
- Ensuring all raw materials and finished products meet specification through routine checks and taste panels
- Monitoring compliance with processes and procedures, actively challenging non-conformance
- Conducting GMP audits, reporting findings, and ensuring timely close-out of actions
- Carrying out lab sampling (micro, swabs, water) and reviewing results with the Quality team
- Completing CCP verification and routine equipment/temperature checks
- Managing glass and hard plastic audits across site
- Raising and supporting the investigation of non-conformance reports (NCRs)
- Supporting allergen control through swabbing and validation checks
- Investigating customer complaints and maintaining accurate records
- Supporting calibration of equipment and maintaining compliance documentation
- Promoting a strong food safety and quality culture across site through communication and engagement
Requirements
Knowledge
- Understanding of product quality control and testing parameters
- HACCP awareness and basic microbiology knowledge
- Awareness of food legislation and allergen control
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Word & Excel)
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage others
- Knowledge of BRC standards (desirable)

- Previous experience working as a QA Technician within a food manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
- Confident using IT systems and reporting tools
Desirable
- BRC audit experience
- Internal Auditor qualification
- Level 2 Food Hygiene and HACCP certifications
- Experience within a bakery manufacturing environment

Our business has been producing products in this category since 1964, and since then, we have grown in success due to our reputation for quality, innovation, and technical experience. As a result of this continued growth, we now operate from a number of world-class and well-invested bakeries in and around Wrexham, including our dedicated Gluten-free site ‘Gluten Freedom’ and our state-of-the-art ‘Super Bakery’ at Ash Road.
