Food Quality Assurance Officer (Night Shift)
Location: Rich Products Corporation (global) Division: Quality Assurance (QA) Shift: Critical Night Shift Hours → Friday: 12-hour shift → Saturday: 12-hour shift → Monday: 8-hour shift

Purpose Statement
The Quality Assurance Officer plays a critical role in ensuring: ✔ Product safety and legal compliance ✔ Customer-quality standards are met ✔ All food safety equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
Key Accountabilities & KPIs
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure 100% adherence to:
- British Retail Consortium (BRC) standards
- Customer-specific quality protocols
- Collaborate with Production Teams to develop, implement, and communicate GMPs, SOP's, and standards
Quality Monitoring & Audits
- Conduct regular quality reports and internal audits, including:
- Product assessment (swabs, microbiological tests, water audits)
- GMP inspections
- Cleaning validation procedures
- Glass/plastic material audits
- Storage locker compliance
- Perform EMP (Environmental Monitoring Programme) verifications
- Participate in supplier 2nd-party audits
Product Safety & Label Verification
- Inspect finished products for adherence to specification, labelling accuracy, and date coding to guarantee compliance with:
- Legal requirements
- Shelf-life standards
- Immediately report any non-conformances and complete root-cause analysis to drive corrective action

Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain legible, retrievable, and up-to-date paperwork per company QMS standards
- Compile and update product manuals and labeling información
Training & Hygiene
- Assist in training Production Operatives and QA team members
- Support hygiene checks and best practices enforcement across the factory
Troubleshooting & Business Continuity
- Hold coverage for technical department absences to ensure uninterrupted operations
- Contribute to problem-solving and root-cause analysis
Core Responsibilities by Task Area

| Product Inspections | Conduct visual and lab-based tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods. |
| Equipment Maintenance | Ensure calibration of safety/health monitoring equipment is scheduled and documented. |
| Maintenance Records | Retain complete compliance documentation for audits and traceability. |
| Complaint Handling | Investigate customer complaints and verify compliance of remedies against standards. |
| Non-Conformance Procedure | Log and investigate defects, recalls, or test failures with immediate action plans. |
| GMP/QMS Support | Assist in the documentation and implementation of Risk Assessment methodologies. |
| Communication | Liaise with Production, Technical, and customer Quality teams to escalate technical issues. |

Requirements & Skills
Essential Qualifications
- UK Level 3 Certificate in Food Hygiene
- UK Level 2/3 Food Safety Awareness/Management (HACCP)
- Proven food manufacturing experience (minimum 2 years desirable)
- Knowledge of:
- Basic food law and regulations
- BRC Global Standards (Food, Packaging, Storage)
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Environmental Monitoring Procedures (EMP)
Technical & Practical Skills
- Internal audit experience (voluntary certifications welcome)
- Familiarity with:
- Microbiological testing (swabbing, corneal, water testing)
- ** Quality Management Systems (QMS) implementation**
- Labeling and datecoding validation
- Root cause analysis (e.g. 8D, Ishikawa, FMEA)
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical ability for troubleshooting and data review
- Excellent ** Attention to detail** and consistency for auditing and complaints resolution
- Training agility for onboarding production staff and new QA recruits
Desirable Experience & Education
✅ Degree-level education (any field, for additional technical analysis support) ✅ Prior experience in internal auditing or **quality assurance frameworks'
