Quality Process Technician (Fish Products)

Summary

Join our team at Humberstone Road and play a key role in maintaining food safety and quality standards across our production site.

The Role

We are looking for a quality-focused individual to monitor and uphold GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and product standards at every stage of production—from intake to dispatch. Working closely with the QA Manager and Operations team, you will ensure all products are manufactured and packed to specification, meeting food safety and legal requirements.

Salary & Hours

  • Pay: £14.76 per hour
  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 06:00–14:00 & 14:00–22:00, rotating weekly

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain quality and technical requirements within the factory.
  • Ensure all raw materials, finished products, and processed goods conform to specification.
  • Carry out quality checks at set intervals, reporting any non-conformances promptly.
  • Conduct:
    • Customer benchmarking panels
    • shelf-life testing
    • consistency checks
    • sensory reviews (inputting results into customer systems)
  • Collect samples for laboratory testing.
  • Support customer audits and visits.
  • Collaborate closely with Production and NPD (New Product Development) teams to maintain technical compliance and smooth site operations.
  • Drive right-first-time behaviours across multi-disciplined teams.

The Ideal Candidate

Technical Qualifications

  • Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in quality auditing and internal auditing.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Root Cause Analysis
    • Intermediate HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)
  • Experience working in a chilled environment, ideally with fish products.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
