About The Role
Based at home with regular travel to services when required (predominantly but not exclusively, in the Lincolnshire area).
Salary: Up to £32,000 depending on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week

The Role
The Quality Auditor provides independent operational audit and quality support to the management team, ensuring adherence to care process standards and promoting continuous improvement. This role bridges Quality Team and Operations, offering direct support to staff and leaders to optimise care quality. Your responsibilities include auditing, governance, and assurance, with a clear focus on safety, effectiveness, and safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and conduct case file, thematic, and observational audits
- Scrutinise and challenge practitioners and managers on process adherence, practice quality, and safeguarding concerns
- Use agreed audit tools aligned with organisational quality assurance frameworks
- Triangulate evidence through observations, colleague interviews, and case reviews
- Identify safeguarding risks and escalate issues as required by policy
- Analyse qualitative/quantitative findings, identifying key themes, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Prepare clear, evidence-based audit reports with actionable recommendations
- Track audit actions and monitor improvements for organisational governance
- Support managers and practitioners through reflective discussions to embed learning
- Contribute to policy/procedure updates based on audit findings
- Deliver training/coaching on quality and safeguarding standards
- Assist with inspection readiness and regulatory engagement (including CQC and Ofsted)
- Generate assurance reports for senior leaders, boards, and governance committees
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to organisational risk/compliance activities

What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Significant experience in adult or children’s social care (residential settings preferred)
- Deep knowledge of safeguarding practice, legislation, and robust methodologies
- Audit/quality assurance/compliance experience (social care background advantageous)
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, including CQC and Ofsted standards
- Analytical/critical thinking skills to distil complex data into actionable reports
- Confidence to challenge managers/practitioners constructively while supporting improvement
- Solution-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Empathetic and approachable demeanour, aligning with outstanding care principles
- Ability to work independently while fostering collaborative team relationships
- Resilience in handling sensitive/challenging situations
- Excellent organisational/communication/interpersonal skills
- Self-motivation and accountability for managing workloads
Desirable
- Familiarity with key legislation (Care Act 2014, Children Acts, MCA/DoLS/LPS)
- Experience in inspection preparation and regulatory assurance
- Background in training reflecting practice or coaching
- Proficiency in clinical/digital systems (e.g., practice tracking software) and MS Office
