Quality & Compliance Specialist
Location: Home-based within Yorkshire or Northwest (due to travel required across services in the region) Working Hours: 26 hours per week Contract Type: Fixed Term (10–12 months) Salary: £38,960 – £56,010 FTE (Note: Salary reflects full earning potential; starting salary depends on experience and progression within the band)

The Opportunity
We’re seeking a motivated, self-driven individual with expertise in audit, inspection, and reporting for an exciting secondment opportunity in the Quality and Compliance team within the Waythrough Yorkshire and Northwest region.
As a Quality & Compliance Specialist, you will provide independent assurance across services, ensuring alignment with quality, regulatory, and contractual standards while driving continuous improvement.
About the Role
You’ll work chair independent of operations, leading:
- Internal inspections
- Monitoring/complaint/incident management
- Regulatory readiness
- Learning loops (assurance, governance, improvement)
Key Requirement: You must secure agreement from your current line manager to cover your role during the secondment.

Inspection & Compliance
- Lead internal inspections across services to ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and organisational standards.
- Produce evidence-based reports identifying risks, strengths, and required improvements.
- Oversee quality improvement plans to drive service enhancement.
Regulatory & Operational Support
- Provide expert guidance to operational teams on regulatory requirements (e.g., CQC, Ofsted) and inspection readiness.
- Assure effective management of complaints, incidents, and safeguarding practices.
Risk & Improvement Analysis
- Identify, assess, and escalate compliance risks, supporting governance and cultural improvement.
- Analyse performance data and trends to inform organisational learning and decision-making.
Training & Collaboration
- Deliver training, briefings, and guidance to promote a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively across teams while maintaining independent oversight.
What You’ll Bring
Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting service improvement & driving quality standards.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills (able to influence at all levels).
- Ability to work independently while building effective cross-team relationships.
- Relevant experience in System One, reporting tools, and The Hub.
- Desirable: Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as CQC, Ofsted, or similar.
