Location: Masham, North Yorkshire, HG4 4JB and Thirsk, YO7 3SS
Salary: GBP40,000 - GBP55,000 per annum (DOE)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control and Assurance Manager to lead the Quality function across our feed manufacturing operations. Reporting as part of the site management team, you will ensure raw materials, production processes, and finished products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and company standards.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for maintaining compliance with UFAS, HACCP, Feed Hygiene Regulations, and industry best practices while driving continuous improvement in product quality, safety, and operational performance.
Please note that this is a dual site role based between Masham, North Yorkshire, HG4 4JB and Thirsk, YO7 3SS.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Quality Assurance department across multiple sites.
- Maintain and improve Quality Management Systems, policies, procedures, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with UFAS, HACCP, Feed Hygiene Regulations, and other relevant standards.
- Manage supplier assurance, product specifications, testing programmes, and laboratory oversight.
- Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Lead customer, regulatory, and third-party audits, acting as the primary quality contact.
- Monitor critical control points, traceability systems, and product release processes.
- Deliver quality, hygiene, and feed safety training to staff.
- Manage the department budget and provide quality performance reporting to senior management.
Essential
About You:
- Experience in a quality management role within feed manufacturing, food production, or a similar regulated industry.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and quality management systems.
- Experience managing audits and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Budget management and commercial awareness.

Desirable
- Experience with UFAS, FEMAS, or GMP+ standards.
- Background in Agriculture, Animal Nutrition, or Food Science.
- Internal or Lead Auditor qualification.
- Experience of laboratory testing and feed production processes.
