The Opportunity

As a Quality Control (QC) Engineer based at our Denham site, you will step into a vital, high-stakes role supporting our manufacturing operations. You will find an autonomous, collaborative environment where your technical precision directly drives continuous improvement and helps us achieve zero defects across all aspects of quality and delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity to act as the core link between production, engineering, and quality teams. You will work within a highly supportive environment to resolve complex technical issues, strengthen critical processes, and ensure every single part meets the rigorous, life-saving standards that define Martin-Baker.

What You’ll Do

  • Zero-Defect Leadership: Support manufacturing operations by coordinating remedial and improvement activities to eliminate quality defects.
  • Material Disposition: Confidently evaluate and disposition reject parts, ensuring all strict specification and production requirements are flawlessly met.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Resolve customer concerns using best-practice quality tools and robust engineering problem-solving methodologies.
  • Performance Tracking: Measure, analyse, and report manufacturing quality performance utilising the corporate Quality Scorecard.
  • Process Auditing: Conduct rigorous spot checks and internal process audits to assess conformance, swiftly implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Documentation Review: Support technical reviews of critical production documentation, including process specifications, engineering drawings, and test procedures.
  • External Audit Support: Assist with external regulatory audits and ensure the timely, robust closure of all non-conformances.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications: Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (essential).
  • Industry Experience: A proven background within aerospace, defence, or automotive manufacturing environments (essential).
  • Standards Expertise: Strong working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, or automotive quality standards (essential).
  • Quality Toolkit: Skilled in root cause analysis, corrective/preventative actions, and continuous improvement tools such as 8D, Lean, and Six Sigma (essential).
  • Communication & Influence: High level of professionalism with the ability to influence, collaborate, and drive change across multi-functional teams (essential).
  • Analytical Mindset: A methodical approach to problem-solving backed by exceptional attention to detail (essential).

  • Final Stage Interview: A face-to-face formal interview at our Denham site with members of the leadership team, allowing you to demonstrate your technical capability and approach.
