Quality Control Inspector – Blyth Manufacturing Facility

About the Role JDR Cable Systems is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our expanding Quality team at our Blyth manufacturing facility.

In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring high-quality standards across all products manufactured, inspected, tested, and terminated. Collaborating closely with production, engineering, and project teams, you will aid in compliance with client specifications and regulatory requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in quality inspection or control, looking to grow within a dynamic and innovative organisation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor production processes using Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and manufacturing documentation to guarantee compliance with customer requirements
  • Verify and sign off start-up and in-process production documentation, ensuring key performance parameters
  • Support NCR (Non-Conformity Reports), ITQ (Issue To QA), and DCR (Discrepancy Reports), including Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), in line with ISO 9001 requirements
  • Inspect and test supplied parts, verifying compliance with JDR purchase specifications and technical drawings
  • Review supplier documentation against Supplier Documentation Requirements and assist with project quality activities when needed
  • Contribute to root cause analysis to identify and eliminate causes of non-conformities
  • Develop and maintain visual management tools to enhance clarity and efficiency across quality processes
  • Support administration of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring ISO 9001 compliance
  • Liaise with Production and other departments to meet customer delivery targets
  • Compile and issue production travel packs and maintain updates throughout manufacturing
  • Attend departmental meetings and support reporting on testing deliverables and quality KPIs
  • Participate in Th!nk Safety and Th!nk Quality programmes
  • Ensure full adherence to Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards

Requirements

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • Previous experience in a Quality Control or inspection role within manufacturing
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical specifications, engineering drawings, and inspection/test plans
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles and international standards
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • A self-motivated, organised approach and the ability to work independently

Desirable Qualities:

  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Strong practical and manual skills
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced production environment
  • A flexible and proactive work approach
