Quality Control Technician

Are you passionate about quality, detail and continuous improvement? We're looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our laboratory team and play a key role in ensuring the quality and performance of our industry-leading road surfacing materials.
Based at our purpose-built manufacturing facility in Ellesmere Port, this laboratory-based role offers the opportunity to develop your technical skills while supporting the manufacture of products that improve road safety across the UK and beyond.
About the Role
Reporting to the Technical Support Manager, you'll carry out quality control testing across our diverse product portfolio, ensuring materials consistently meet required specifications. You'll also support laboratory quality systems, product development activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Success in this role requires a methodical approach, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. You'll be a proactive team player who enjoys solving problems, taking ownership and maintaining high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out quality control testing across our product range, including:
- Road marking materials
- High Friction Surfacing (Anti-Skid)
- Road repair products
- Road surfacing grades
- Test incoming raw materials, including aggregates, oils and other production materials.
- Accurately maintain quality control records, test reports and laboratory databases.
- Identify, report and support investigations into product non-conformities.
- Complete quality assurance documentation in line with company procedures.
- Support product improvement projects, technical investigations and training activities where required.
- Help maintain laboratory equipment, calibration schedules and quality systems.
- Contribute to the continual improvement of laboratory processes and quality assurance procedures.
- Work safely at all times, complying with company Health & Safety policies.
Skills & Experience
- A Levels (or equivalent), preferably including Chemistry or another scientific subject.
- Experience within an industrial manufacturing environment, ideally within plastics, paints, coatings, resins or similar industries.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and adapt to changing business needs.
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to work effectively with colleagues across manufacturing, technical and management teams.
- Commitment to Health & Safety and quality standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using ERP systems such as Sage or SAP would be advantageous.
