About The Role

We are partnering with a reputable British engineering company based in Stroud, Gloucestershire, renowned for designing and manufacturing premium, high-performance products. They are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to take ownership of quality assurance and control across the business. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role offers a significant level of autonomy, enabling the successful candidate to influence and improve quality processes, enhance standards, and shape the future of the quality function within the organization. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving quality initiatives across production, supplier quality, goods-in inspection, and handling customer returns. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional to contribute to a company committed to excellence and continuous improvement in manufacturing quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer within an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems and standards such as ISO 9001.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing quality processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve manufacturing quality issues effectively.
  • Experience working collaboratively with suppliers, production teams, and customers to uphold high-quality standards.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and educate teams.
  • Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in quality management or engineering are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and oversee quality activities across all production stages, ensuring compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
  • Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop, review, and maintain quality procedures, inspection processes, and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Support goods-in inspection processes, ensuring incoming materials meet specified quality criteria.
  • Handle customer returns and complaints, investigating issues and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Lead initiatives to improve manufacturing processes, reduce defects, and enhance overall product quality.
  • Provide training and guidance to production and supplier teams on quality standards and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality metrics and prepare reports for senior management to support strategic decision-making.
