KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and BAM UK & Ireland. We are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and we are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer.
A Quality Engineer focuses on implementing quality assurance and quality control processes at the operational level. They work closely with production or project teams to ensure products or services meet defined quality standards.
Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks. Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
Making Possible
In this role, you will be working in a live MOD facility. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
Develop and execute inspection and testing procedures Conduct root cause analysis and support problem-solving activities Monitor production or construction processes for quality compliance Review documentation and verify that materials/products meet specifications Support audits and quality system implementations Assist in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes Collect and analyse quality data to identify trends and improvements

What do you bring to the role?
Professionally qualified operator and/or Graduate Quality related qualifications and Industry experience ie ISO Experience of similar role, preferred in relevant sector (ie Nuclear and Defence) CSCS - Green labourer Strong understanding of quality principles, inspection methods, and testing Familiarity with quality tools (e.g., FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis) Knowledge of relevant standards (ISO 9001, industry-specific) Basic statistical and data analysis skills Good communication and problem-solving abilities
