Role - Quality Engineer

Location - Kidderminster, UK

I'm currently working with a leading manufacturer of rocket propulsion systems for the defence and aerospace sector, who are looking to add a Quality Engineer to support production quality, project compliance, and customer-facing assurance. This is a hands-on quality position with exposure to both shop-floor activities and structured project/process controls, working closely with manufacturing, engineering, and programme teams to ensure products meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and drive quality activities throughout production and project lifecycles, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.
  • Act as the key quality interface between manufacturing, engineering, and project teams, investigating quality concerns and supporting effective resolution of non-conformances.
  • Review, monitor, and maintain quality documentation, ensuring full traceability and adherence to quality management systems.
  • Participate in customer and supplier quality activities where required, supporting audits, investigations, and compliance reviews.
  • Conduct root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Perform quality inspections and assessments, supporting first article inspections, production acceptance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve manufacturing performance.
  • Apply inspection and measurement techniques, with experience using CMMs or other metrology equipment considered advantageous.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
