Owen Daniels have an excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a leading engineering and manufacturing business. This is a key role supporting new product introduction, supplier and customer quality activities, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

The successful candidate will play an integral part in ensuring new products are successfully introduced into production while maintaining the highest quality standards throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead quality activities for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept through to production.
  • Manage APQP activities, ensuring all quality planning requirements are achieved.
  • Prepare, review and submit PPAP documentation to customers in line with project requirements.
  • Support Design, Manufacturing and Production teams to ensure products are introduced efficiently and meet quality expectations.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Create and maintain PFMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams and other quality documentation.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements.
  • Analyse quality data and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Work closely with suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues and support ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on reducing defects and improving manufacturing performance.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Experience producing and reviewing quality documentation including PFMEA, Control Plans and Process Flow Diagrams.
  • Knowledge of Core Quality Tools including FMEA, MSA, SPC, 8D and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experience working to ISO 9001, with knowledge of IATF 16949 considered advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, production, customers and suppliers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
