Quality Engineer
The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market-leading brands; we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe.
We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our busy and growing organisation. The successful candidate will be based at our Milton Keynes site and will be responsible for supporting and maintaining Quality Processes and procedures for Whittan MK.
Key Working Relationships
- Production Management
- Internal Customer liaison
- External Customer liaison
- Engineering / Technical
Key Responsibilities
- Internal Auditing of all areas
- Customer Focused / resolving customer issues
- Quality Inspections / Ensure product conformity
- Oversee Documentation control – company form register
- Raising of NCRs / Corrective Actions
- Support Continual Improvement Initiatives
- Training of key processes to shop floor personnel
- Monitoring / upkeep of Process Boards
- Calibration & Issue of all measuring equipment
- Collection of Scrap data to drive cost down focus
- Writing of New procedures
- 8d and problem-solving analysis

Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience
- Working Knowledge of ISO Standards
- Experience in engineering & manufacturing processes
- Methodical & very organized
- Good in both written & oral skills to deliver reports to the business & customers
- Ability to work on own initiative & train others
- Able to work under pressure
- Manage & influence others to achieve key objectives
- Knowledge of Internal Auditing
- Be able to review and flow chart a process
- Understanding of measuring equipment
- Understanding of engineering drawings
- Work with suppliers to ensure specifications are met – Steel, Chemical etc
- Computer Literate, knowledge of SAP preferable
