Quality Engineer

A Quality Engineer is sought for a precision engineering & manufacturing business who design & manufacture an innovate range of products for global export.

Salary: £35,000 + benefits
Location: Hull

This is an interesting and varied responsibility to work for a business that design and manufacture precision technology which is exported globally.

Duties:

  • Co-ordinating and controlling investigation of Customer/Supplier complaints to enable a full understanding of the real root cause failure and corrective actions
  • Monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of any corrective actions taken to eliminate Supplier or Customer complaints.
  • Accountable for production quality issues – component inspection, corrective action, risk assessment and problem resolution.
  • Continuous monitoring of the manufacturing processes by audits, statistical analysis or any other relevant technique to support continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance to the shop floor staff on Quality Assurance and cost saving techniques.

Experience:

Applications are sought from experienced Quality Engineers with significant knowledge of production quality control and new product introduction gained within a precision engineering environment.

  • Apprentice trained, HNC or Degree in an engineering or technical discipline
  • Measurement & inspection of components and complete assemblies
  • Structure problem solving skills – 8D, 5Y, A3, PPS
  • Read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T
  • Able to utilise metrology equipment - CMM and manual measuring tools
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement techniques
  • Familiar with close tolerance engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Internal auditor experience desirable
  • Proven ability to use quality tools such as PPAP, Control Plans, MSA and PFMEA.
