Functional area: Engineering; Quality Management

As a team, we provide quality deliverables to stakeholders in procurement and projects in development, construction, and operations to ensure quality risks are effectively managed.

As a Quality Engineer, you work within the project to manage the quality requirements towards our contractors in accordance with the RWE Offshore Governance including the quality management standards, while also collaborating with the line function. The Quality Engineer is responsible for a wide range of quality assurance and control, audit, inspection and surveillance planning activities within defined packages.

About The Role

  • Work as Quality Engineer within a UK Project package, reporting to the Project Quality Manager, Package Manager, and line organisation, while implementing all contractual and corporate quality and technical requirements.
  • Plan and control quality activities across the Contractor, Sub-Contractors, Manufacturers, Installers and their supply chains throughout the project package.
  • Plan and manage production/installation monitoring and inspection of equipment at manufacturing plants, fabrication sites and offshore sites, from design through to handover.
  • Manage and coordinate multi-disciplined teams of inspectors both onshore and offshore, evaluating reports, inspection results and findings.
  • Capture all work progress, inspections and non-conformities (NC) in RWE's Quality inspection app, monitor and report on compliance, and assess non-conformities through root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up.
  • Prepare tender documents (e.g., quality assurance agreements), evaluate tender returns and support contract negotiations with suppliers as required.
  • Plan and conduct general quality monitoring and audits.
  • Perform supplier qualification and assessment, and continuously develop supplier quality.

Job Requirements And Experience

  • Completed university degree in an Engineering discipline, along with additional qualifications as a quality auditor, quality engineer or comparable.
  • Relevant professional experience in quality assurance, control/monitoring and management, with comprehensive knowledge in offshore wind farm components, particularly wind turbine components.
  • Solid understanding of quality requirements and risks in onshore and offshore environments, with practical experience from the construction and manufacturing industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant international project and quality management standards and technical regulations, including IEC, BSH, DNV, BS/EN/ISO and NORSOK.
  • Business fluent in written and spoken English, with very good knowledge of common IT tools and systems.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage own workload, with the ability to maintain a clear overview in a busy project environment.
  • Collaborative, consistent and motivated collaborator who works well with others.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.

An offer of employment in this role may require holding active or ability to pass National Security vetting to SC level. Failure to obtain and or maintain National Security Vetting to SC may result in the removal of job offers and or existing employment.
