Quality Engineer

Location: Haydock, St Helens (4 days per week in the office)
Job type: Permanent / Temporary
Contracted hours: Full time – 36hrs per week (we offer an option to condense full time hours into 4 days Monday – Thursday)

About the role

Overview of the role

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Quality & Continuous Improvement team at Delkia's Haydock headquarters. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Project Management and Supply Chain teams, you will help ensure our engineering and manufacturing activities consistently meet customer, regulatory and business quality requirements across a range of safety-critical projects within the nuclear, defence and clean energy sectors.

The role will focus on maintaining and improving quality standards through auditing, non-conformance management, root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities. You will play a key role in supporting the Quality Management System, driving corrective actions and promoting a strong quality culture across the business, helping to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality products and services in a highly regulated environment.

What you’ll be responsible for

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and continuously improving Delkia's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable quality requirements.
  • Conducting internal and supplier audits, supporting external audits and ensuring effective follow-up of actions and findings.
  • Managing non-conformances, leading root cause investigations and driving corrective and preventive actions to resolution.
  • Working collaboratively with Production, Engineering and Project teams to ensure quality requirements are embedded throughout project and manufacturing activities.
  • Monitoring quality performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting continuous improvement initiatives using recognised quality tools and methodologies.
  • Promoting a strong quality culture across the business by providing guidance, support and expertise on quality-related matters.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
