About The Role
Due to an increase in workload growth within the business, our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Engineer to join their existing team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the company's quality standards across various manufacturing processes. Working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams, the Quality Engineer will investigate non-conformance reports (NCRs), ensure compliance with industry standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment, ensuring products meet rigorous quality specifications and customer expectations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of an HNC qualification in an engineering or quality discipline. Demonstrable experience within a Quality Engineering role in a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential. Candidates should possess a broad understanding of manufacturing processes, including fabrication, machining, and assembly. Certifications in ISO 9001 auditing are required, with additional lead auditor training being desirable. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams are crucial for success in this position.

Responsibilities
- Preparation and management of all system certification packs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Maintaining and updating the company's calibration register to ensure all measuring equipment is within calibration and properly documented.
- Collaborating with managers, engineers, and suppliers to develop, implement, and review quality control measures and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products adhere to safety regulations and industry best practices, fostering a culture of safety and quality.
- Investigating product or production issues, troubleshooting problems, and recommending corrective and preventive actions to mitigate future risks.
- Supporting customer audits and inspections, addressing non-conformances, and implementing corrective actions to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Creating, maintaining, and controlling quality documentation such as quality plans, inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and audit findings.
- Participating in continuous improvement projects alongside the Quality Manager, contributing ideas and implementing best practices.
- Performing all job tasks with a focus on safety, adhering to good working practices and promoting a safe working environment.

Skills & Attributes
- Minimum HNC qualification in an engineering or quality discipline.
- Proven experience as a Quality Engineer within an engineering or manufacturing setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, and assembly.
- Certification in ISO 9001 auditing, with a strong understanding of quality management systems.
- Lead auditor training is desirable, demonstrating leadership in audit processes and quality assessments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

The role provides a stable working environment with standard hours from Monday to Thursday, 08:30 to 16:30, and Friday from 08:30 to 16:00.
