Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Manchester
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum dependent on experience
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Do you have quality experience in a high-quality engineering environment ideally looking to be part of a successful, niche, but industry leading organisation?
EDM design, manufacture and install specialist mechanical applications to a diverse client base. On offer is an opportunity to work for a company that have an excellent reputation in their industry and a state-of-the-art facility to enable them to deliver on bespoke projects for a range of clients.
Based in Manchester we are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer on a permanent basis to join our developing Quality Department. We have a wide variety of prestigious clients on some of the most exciting Military and Civil aviation training engineering projects around the world and this role will be instrumental in developing this area of our business.
About The Role
- Act as the deputy to the EDM Quality Manager in their absence
- Maintain and plan the EDM internal and external audit plan
- Oversee EDM equipment Calibration requirements
- Support Factory and/or Site Acceptable Testing when required
- Support Test Activities Including
- Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) when required and manage the diary
- Verification of stages during build
- Recording of errors and collating trends
- Testing of systems both mechanical and electronic
- Assist in the creation and closure of EDM Non Conformances
- Assist in bids and review quality requirements
- Assist in maintaining the EDM Quality Manual and EDM processes
- Respond to customer complaints in a timely and efficient manner and maintain records
- Manage & maintain proprietary systems data within the company computer systems
- Maintain the EDM MRB (Material Review Board) System
- Develop EDM inspection capability to deliver cost effective verification methods

Key Requirements:
- Experience in solving problems and driving improvements
- Experience with ISO 9001
- Understanding of GD&T and its applications
- Use of modern measuring equipment and determining best and most effective use
- Experience of working in Imperial
- Experience in FAIR processes to AS9102
- Understanding of CE marking requirements
- Familiar with the use of Microsoft Office Packages i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as and when required
- Ability To Achieve UK Security Clearance Essential
