Quality Engineer
Salary: GBP 35,000 + benefits
Location: Hull
This is an interesting and varied responsibility to work for a business that design and manufacture precision technology which is exported globally.
Duties
- Coordinating and controlling investigation of Customer/Supplier complaints to enable a full understanding of the real root cause failure and corrective actions
- Monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of any corrective actions taken to eliminate Supplier or Customer complaints.
- Accountable for production quality issues: component inspection, corrective action, risk assessment and problem resolution.
- Continuous monitoring of the manufacturing processes by audits, statistical analysis or any other relevant technique to support continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance to the shop floor staff on Quality Assurance and cost saving techniques.
Experience
Applications are sought from experienced Quality Engineers with significant knowledge of production quality control and new product introduction gained within a precision engineering environment.

- Apprentice trained, HNC or Degree in an engineering or technical discipline
- Measurement and inspection of components and complete assemblies
- Structure problem solving skills: 8D, 5Y, A3, PPS
- Read engineering drawings and interpret GD and T
- Able to utilise metrology equipment: CMM and manual measuring tools
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement techniques
- Familiar with close tolerance engineering and manufacturing processes
- Internal auditor experience desirable
- Proven ability to use quality tools such as PPAP, Control Plans, MSA and PFMEA.
