Overview
We are looking for experienced and motivated Quality Engineers to join our teams for (HV) infrastructure projects based in Lancaster & Essex. The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting the project teams throughout the entire process, from concept to commissioning. The ideal applicants will have a robust background in construction environments, demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, communicate effectively with diverse teams. Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to quality assurance are fundamental for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that quality-related project activities are efficiently implemented by contractors on site, meeting the specific requirements of the project.
- Review contractors Inspection and Test Plans in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Promote continuous improvement by sharing your expertise through training and regular coaching, including ongoing communication with project management, site managers, internal specialist departments, document controllers, and specialist managers from the customer.
- Ensure that construction site organisation and subcontractors comply with both project and client quality requirements.
- Facilitate testing activities on the construction site in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plans.
- Identify, record non-conformances and ensure effective resolution.
- Participate in mitigating negative impacts on the project and contribute to developing and implementing effective solutions.
- Support the project teams with customer complaints and help develop effective solutions.
- Perform quality audits in line with pre-determined schedule

Qualifications

- Relevant experience working on HV substation projects and construction sites of varying size and complexity.
- In-depth knowledge of quality assurance and quality control.
- Civils construction & M&E installation experience would be a distinct advantage.
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and document management.
- Health and Safety (H&S) experience is advantageous.
- Demonstrate efficiency and a high level of technical, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems proactively and build positive relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Complete assigned tasks with initiative, flexibility, perseverance, and strict adherence to the company Code of Conduct.
