Quality Engineer
Role Purpose The Quality Engineer will support the transfer of business from Sunbury-on-Thames to the new Towcester facility, ensuring full capability and alignment of the quality management system in line with regulatory standards, customer expectations, and all relevant internal processes and procedures. The role will drive continuous improvement in product quality through robust root cause analysis while contributing to a reduction in the cost of poor quality.
Key Responsibilities
Core Duties

Documentation & Validation
- Produce and submit Last & First Article Reports to customers.
- Validate incoming supplier reports.

Inspection & Quality Monitoring
- Provide ongoing inspection support for Towcester products, including inwards and outwards inspection processes.
- Monitor and escalate internal product quality issues as required.

Problem-Solving & Corrective Action
- Lead cross-functional problem-solving teams in line with Ametek Airtechnology standard processes to implement effective and robust corrective actions.

Regulatory Compliance & Product Release
- Take responsibility for product release in accordance with:
- EASA Form 1 (CAA Part 21 & 145)
- FAR 145
- Certificate of Conformity for all products from the business site.
- Delegate DQR (Delegated Quality Responsibility) during absence (after training).
- Achieve and maintain delegated quality authority from customers and delegate where necessary.

Audit & Compliance Functions
- Lead and host customer audits conducted at Towcester and act as the primary focal point for third-party assessments with the Compliance & Audit Manager.
- Carry out internal audits in compliance with the internal audit programme.
- Deputise for the Quality Manager as required.

- Provide quality support for production setup, including:
- Control plans
- Inspection requirements
- Ongoing compliance oversight

Additional Responsibilities (Non-Essential)
- Participate in independent internal audits and address any issues raised in areas of responsibility.
- Undertake mandatory role-specific training as directed by the Role Manager.
- Ensure flexibility to support departmental needs during reduced staff attendance to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Undertake ad hoc duties periodically, which may include:
- Training
- Department-associated tasks
- Temporary secondments to other departments
Standard Business Responsibilities
- Understand and apply the Business Management System to this role.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements at all times.
- Report any potential business risks or issues (regardless of perceived severity) to the line manager.
- Ensure all duties comply with Company policies, procedures, and Business Management System requirements.

Salary & Incentives
- Currency: GBP
- Salary Range: Market-standard minimum to market-standard maximum
- Incentive: Market-aligned performance bonus
