About the Role
Blue Light Card is seeking a Staff Quality Engineer to help define and drive quality engineering practices across the organization. Reporting to the Quality Lead, this senior individual contributor role combines strategic leadership with hands-on engineering, focusing on building scalable test frameworks, automation tooling, performance testing, and quality standards across web, mobile, and cloud platforms. Working closely with Engineering, Platform, Product, and Data teams, you will enable development squads to deliver high-quality software with confidence.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in Quality Engineering, Software Testing, or Test Automation.
- Strong expertise in mobile testing for both iOS and Android platforms.
- Advanced experience with web automation frameworks and end-to-end testing.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience with AWS serverless technologies.
- Knowledge of performance testing strategies and automation.
- Experience designing test environments and test data management solutions.
- Familiarity with observability platforms such as Grafana or Datadog.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and data quality principles.
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality engineering strategies across multiple engineering teams.
- Build and maintain automated testing frameworks for web, iOS, and Android applications.
- Design reusable automation tools and shared testing utilities.
- Define and implement performance testing practices across web and mobile platforms.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve test environments and test data management.
- Monitor software quality metrics and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Support engineering teams with automation best practices and quality standards.
- Mentor developers and promote a culture of shared ownership for software quality.
- Partner with Platform, Product, and Engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Contribute hands-on to automation code, frameworks, and quality tooling.
