Job Summary

Based at our East Cowes facility (Isle of Wight), reporting to the Chief Manufacturing Engineer, the Quality Engineer will act as the primary customer-facing point of contact for quality assurance.

You’ll ensure all processes align with customer and regulatory requirements—supporting our Defence and Civil aerospace businesses.

This role is open to: ✅ Experienced Quality/Manufacturing Engineers ✅ Aspiring professionals seeking a career in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering (with mentorship)

Travel Required: Flexible for ad-hoc national/international travel (approximately quarterly, depending on customer needs).


Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with safety & environmental policies, ensuring the highest standards for all personnel and visitors.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to define quality performance strategies and metrics.
  • Develop quality plans (or refine existing ones) to ensure process consistency and continue improvement.
  • Offer expert advice to all departments on quality-related issues and solutions.
  • Lead corrective (proactive fixes) and preventative actions (future-proofing), alongside lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Analyse quality data to pinpoint process inefficiencies, then drive action plans to eliminate failures.
  • Engage directly with customers, updating on build quality improvements at regular meetings.

Essential Qualifications

Dream candidates will have:

✔ Proven experience in Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline within aerospace/manufacturing. ✔ Customer-facing finesse: confident engaging with clients, suppliers, and teams. ✔ Driven to improve: hands-on experience in process quality upgrades. ✔ Travel appetite: prepared for national/international assignments as required.


Desirable (But Not Essential)

🔹 Audit experience 🔹 In-depth knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) – AS9145 standard 🔹 HNC (Higher National Certificate) or equivalent qualification 🔹 MRP/ERP system experience 🔹 Experience with AS9100 Lead Auditor 🔹 Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
