Quality Engineer
London | Hybrid Working
The Opportunity
A growing technology and engineering organisation delivering complex operational systems is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support the successful delivery of major programmes across critical infrastructure environments. This position sits within the project delivery function and is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and improving quality processes across engineering, service, and operational activities. The successful candidate will work with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure consistent delivery standards, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
Quality Governance & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality frameworks across multiple projects and operational workstreams.
- Ensure project activities align with internal governance requirements, customer obligations, and recognised industry standards.
- Prepare for and support external audits, certifications, and compliance reviews.
- Identify quality risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Promote a culture of quality and continual improvement across delivery teams.

Assurance & Performance
- Establish quality metrics and reporting mechanisms to measure delivery performance.
- Conduct quality reviews of project outputs, technical documentation, processes, and deliverables.
- Monitor trends, identify recurring issues, and drive improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate corrective and preventive action programmes where performance falls below expected standards.
- Produce quality reports and recommendations for senior management.
Supplier & Partner Management
- Assess supplier quality performance and support supplier improvement activities.
- Participate in supplier audits, reviews, and performance assessments.
- Work with procurement, engineering, and operational teams to ensure third-party deliverables meet required standards.
- Support the resolution of supplier-related quality concerns.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead root cause investigations relating to operational, technical, or process failures.
- Facilitate lessons learned workshops and ensure findings are embedded into future delivery activities.
- Support process optimisation initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to organisational quality strategy and best practice development.

About You
You will have experience working in structured engineering, technology, infrastructure, transportation, utilities, telecommunications, or other regulated environments where quality, compliance, and service performance are critical.
Essential Experience
- Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience in Engineering, Quality, Operations, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience within Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, Operational Excellence, or Continuous Improvement roles.
- Experience working within ISO-certified environments.
- Strong understanding of auditing principles, risk management, and quality assurance methodologies.
- Experience analysing performance data and translating findings into practical improvement actions.
- Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
Desirable
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification.
- Knowledge of IT Service Management frameworks such as ITIL.
- Experience supporting infrastructure, transport, mobility, smart city, telecommunications, or public sector programmes.
- Familiarity with supplier quality management and contract performance monitoring.
