We are looking for: We currently have a vacancy for a Quality Engineer, reporting to the Senior Quality Engineer in Wrexham.

Responsibilities

Quality Engineers (QE) are responsible for ensuring products/parameters are in control within established processes and facilitates improvement within such processes. Provide customers with technical support on testing issues and continuous improvements of quality systems.

  • Day-to-Day management of non-conformances through the company Quality Management Systems: SAP(ERP), Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Non-Conformance Management Reporting and Customer Complaints (ETQ).
  • Represents Quality at the daily/weekly site meetings to reinforce and communicate all customer issues, quality escapes and other systemic quality issues.
  • Analyses internal and external quality issues and develop robust corrective actions through the use of quality tools such as: Pareto Analysis, SPC, Process Mapping, 8D, DMAIC, FMEA and APQP.
  • Works within the quality team to ensure that all quality documentation such as: Process Control Documents (PCD), inspection documents, testing requirements and sampling plans are correct and maintained in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Monitors product quality performance through SPC and CPK analysis of critical raw material and product parameters.
  • Represents the company to customers during communications/visits with responsibility to ensure/display preventive systems are in place for the customer's product.
  • Lead and facilitate external customer and accreditation audits.
  • Accountable for Internal Audits to ensure compliance to quality standards and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead and facilitate quality improvement activities through use of lean and various engagement tools, including kaizen, 5S and applicable problem solving methodology tools.

Requirements

You will bring:

  • Engineering or Science degree preferred, HNC/D minimum, technical background.
  • 5 years previous experience in quality/process engineering function in manufacturing environment.

  • Strong analytical and statistical skills.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Understanding of quality systems, ISO9001/AS9100 requirements. Experience of NADCAP advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience of 8D problem solving, root cause analysis and FMEA’s. APQP advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the business.

  • Salary: From £45.200 to £50.000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
