Quality Engineer

Quality Engineer

Location: Bishops Stortford Employment Type: Permanent Annual Salary: (Subject to experience)

Role Conditions

  • Working Hours:
    • Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30
    • Friday: 07:30 – 12:30
  • Overtime: Paid at 1.5x hourly rate
  • Holidays: 29 days (including bank holidays)

About the Role

On behalf of our aviation industry client, we are recruiting for a Quality Engineer. This position offers a technical excellence-focused role in a dynamic environment with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support quality assurance systems in line with regulatory body requirements
  • Ensure compliance with company approvals
  • Assist in quality staff training programs
  • Maintain up-to-date manuals, procedures, and corporate documents on the server
  • Conduct internal audits across group facilities
  • Resolve technical queries with:
    • Production personnel
    • External customers
  • Liaise with auditors on quality auditing processes pertaining to approval systems
  • Continuously monitor and improve systems, proposing new methods where needed
  • Manage and rate sub-contractor/supplier records
  • Track and report scrap records
  • Collate data for management reviews
  • Conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and help resolve non-conformities
  • Monitor KPIs, delivery schedules, and ensure on-time performance reporting

Candidate Requirements

  • Fluent English (reading, speaking, understanding)
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 (essential)
  • AS9100 auditing experience (preferred)
  • NADCAP auditing experience (desirable)
  • Experience with Q-Pulse (desirable)
  • Right to work in the UK
